The answer would be:
she ate 50 oranges.
Here is the reason why (if you needed it):
Let x = the number of oranges that Sara ate.
Thus x + .4x = 1.4x is the number of oranges that Sara sold.
Therefore, 1.4x = 70/1.4 = 50.
