It is around four o'clock toward the evening, and Andrew and John remain with Jesus whatever is left of the day. Andrew is excited to the point that at one point he discovers his sibling Simon, additionally called Peter, and lets him know: "We have discovered the Messiah." (John 1:41) Andrew takes Peter to Jesus. Later occasions propose that John also discovers his sibling James and conveys him to Jesus; yet, John does exclude this individual detail in his record of occasions.
The following day, Jesus discovers Philip, who is from Bethsaida. It is close to the north shore of the Sea of Galilee and is the home city of Andrew and Peter. Jesus welcomes Philip: "Be my follower."—John 1:43.
