how do you turn the product of 2 and the difference between t and 1 is 14 how do you turn that into an algebraic expression

The algebraic expression to represent this is:
2(t - 1) = 14
(t - 1) represents "the difference between t and 1"
and the 2 before that multiplies (t -1) by 2.
14 is what you get when you multiply 2 by (t - 1).
