A neuron is a nervous system cell specialized in the communication and processing of information. Each neuron is composed of three regions:* a cell body or perikaryon comprising the nucleus.* numerous dendritic type ramifications (from which the information comes).* and an axon, through which the information is disseminated.
There's more than one type of neurons in the CNS:
*Multipolar neurons: composed of many dendrites and one axon which are the more frequent in the CNS.
*Bipolar neurons: with only one branch of dendrites.
*Unipolar neurons: with only one branch of dendrites, but has a shape of "T".
*Anaxonic neurons: which has no axone, it has only dendrites.
