Proximal convoluted tubules (PCT)

Proximal convoluted tubules (PCT) are first part of the renal tubule that extends from the Bowman’s capsule to the descending arm of the thin loop of the Henle. PCT is made up of cells that contain many mitochondria that produce ATP for the energy –intensive resorptive processes.
