Answer: x = 17

Explanation:

We can tell that these two angles are supplementary angles because we can use corresponding angles. See attached.

(x + 14)° + (9x - 4)° = 180°

x° + 14° + 9x° - 4° = 180°

14°- 4° + x° + 9x° = 180°

10° + 10x° = 180°

10x° = 170°

x = 17
