It went from 25k to 28k. So first you find the difference. Which is 3k. Now you divide that by your original amount. 3k/25k = 12% increase

Initial population of Huntsville = 25000

Increased population of Huntsville = 28000

Difference = Increased population of Huntsville - Initial population of Huntsville

Difference = 28000-25000 = 3000

Percent increase in population is given by:

% increase = (Difference)/(Initial population)*100

% increase = (3000)/(25000)*100

Percentage Increase = 12%

Answer: The percent increase in Huntsville’s population is 12%.
