B. Slave labor b/c the colonies didn’t have to pay for the syllables to work for them so therefore they lost no money making it and made money selling it.

slave labor made tobacco profitable because colonists did not pay for the services of having their cotton picked. the money that would be spent to pay employees was pocketed as profit
