see my picture :)

pythagorean theorem
h = √10² - 8² = √100 - 64 = √36 = 6

height is 6
base is 8

area = 1/2bh = 1/2(8)(6) = 1/2(42) = 24 square feet

C.24 is the answer

Hey there

____________
The correct answer is
This is basically a 3-4-5 triangle, but doubled to 6-8-10.

You can verify that with the Pythagorean Theorem.
a² + 8² = 10²
a² = 100 - 64
a² = 36
a = 6

If the legs are 6 and 8, the area is half the product of the legs:
A = ½ * 6 * 8
A = 24

Answer:
C) 24 sq. ft.
