I believe the answer is: Native Americans were pushed off of land they had lived on for centuries.
Because of the railroad construction, many companies hire mercenaries to get fend off indians' resistance when the company want to buy their land on lower cost. Because of this, many of them were forced to move away for their tribe member's safety
