People and historians often come to varying conclusions about historical events because of cultural experiences, methods in learning about an event, time period, and personal bias.

One example of an event that people now see much differently are the Mongols. The Mongols are often portrayed as bloodthirsty, savage warriors but in recent historical findings this was propaganda and exaggerations. Most often because of this armies would surrender in fear.
