first, find out what the measurements are. in order to do so, multiply the sides by each other since l*w=area.
•(312*3)=936 and (314*4)=1256
•this means that three tiles each equals 936, while six tiles each equals 1256

next, use multiplication to find out the total area by multiplying 3 for the number of tiles there are for the ones that measure 936, and multiplying 4 by 1256.
• (936*3)=2808, (1256*4)=5024
to find the total area, add the two numbers
• 2808+5024= 7832
The area of the whole mosaic is 7832 square inches.
