Let us say first number is x.

Let us say second number is y.

We are given that:

The difference of the two numbers is 2.

x-y=2

x=2+y.................(1)

We are also given that:

product of the numbers is 41.25

x*y=41.25............(2)

Plugging the value of x from equation (1) in (2)

(2+y)*y=41.25

2y+y^(2)=41.25

On solving we will get,

y=5.5 and y=-7.5

So if y=5.5,

x= 2+y = 7.5

Answer : The first number is 7.5 and the second number is 5.5
