Luke plots his favorite places to go in his town on a coordinate plane. His 4 favorite places, the skateboard park, the ice cream shop, the comic book store, and his best friend's house, make a rectangle. The skateboard park is located at the point (-3,5), the ice cream shop at (-3,6), and the comic book store at (4,6). At what point does his best friend live? A) (-3, 4) B) (4, 5) C) (5, 4) D) (5, 6)

The answer is B) (4,5). In order to form a rectangle, there has to be two matching pairs of y coordinates.

We are given that:

The skateboard park is located at the point (-3,5),

the ice cream shop is located at the point (-3,6),

and the comic book store is located at (4,6).

We are also given that the four coordinates forms a rectangle.

Here we already have two matching x- coordinates as -3 and y coordinates as 6.

Now we must have two matching x and y coordinates too.

As shown in figure , if we have the last coordinate as (4,5), it will complete the rectangle.

So answer is option B) (4,5) is the last coordinate at which his best friend lives.
