Why is Pluto no longer considered a planet?

For any object in space to be considered a planet, it needs to follow the three IAU laws. The first one is that it must be round, the second is that it must orbit a star and that it must clear its neighbourhood of all objects. Pluto follows the first two laws but does not follow the third law.

It has not yet cleared the neighborhood of its orbit in space. Because it does not follow this rule, Pluto is no longer considered a planet.
