Determine whether 3y = −7x + 8 is quadratic or not. Explain.

A. No; there is no constant term, so c = 0.
B. No; there is no x-term, so b = 0.
C. No; there is no x2-term, so a = 0.
D. Yes; it can rewritten in the form y = ax2 + bx + c.

Yes, it is Quadratic.

D. Yes; it can rewritten in the form y = ax2 + bx + c.

there is no b, so you would skip over it

3y = -7x + 8

isolate the y (divide 3 from both sides)

(3y)/3 = (-7x + 8)/3
y = (-7x + 8)/3 would be your answer

D. Yes; it can rewritten in the form y = ax2 + bx + c. (is actual answer)

hope this helps
