Solution:

we are given that

The radius of a circle is 34 meters long, and a chord of the circle is 60 meters long.

we have been asked to find

How far is the chord form the center of the circle.

The diagram has been made as per the given information.

From the diagram

Lets apply pythagorous theorem in the right angled atraingle we get

D=√(34^2-30^2)\\ \\  D=√(1156-900)\\ \\  D=√(256)\\ \\ D=16\\

Hence the required distance is 16m.

The radius of a circle is 34 meters long, and a chord of the circle is 60 meters long-example-1
