Hi! :)

Both systems try to make government more efficient. Both systems have an elected group that makes laws for the city. Both systems have a weak mayor. Only the council-manager system uses a professional city manager. Only the commission system has commissioners that specialize in one aspect of city government.

The council-manager is a form of governments that is local and establishes a representative system in form of a council formed by elected officials that are the community’s decision makers. The council also hires a professionally trained manager to oversee the delivery of public services.

The city commission government is a form of local government; the commissions are also elected by voters, but are smaller in numbers of members. They are responsible for supporting the city as needed in different areas like public works, finance, or safety.

Similarity: They are basically the same as both are forms of elected body that aims to help their communities;

Difference: The council-manager is a bigger and more professional organization form of government, while the commission is a smaller scale and focused in a more specific point. .
