A block of mass 0.2 Kg, initially moving with a velocity of 10 m/s, slides up a curved ramp to a

stop 10 m above its original level.

a) Draw free body diagrams of the block at the original level and also on the ramp.

b) Explain why the block stops moving at 10 m?

The block stops because that is where: potential energy = kinetic energy.
All the kinetic energy is converted to potential energy.
mv² = mgh
0.2(10)² = 0.2(10)(10)
