Answer:

Actual pressure = 36.5.

Explanation:

Let the actual pressure be x.

Pressure on Sue's gauge shows 8% higher than the actual pressure.

8% more of x = x + 0.08x

= 1.08x

It is also given that the pressure on Sue's gauge = 39.42

Therefore, 1.08x = 39.42

Divide both sides by 1.08.

x =
(39.42)/(1.08)

= 36.5

Hence, actual pressure = 36.5.

39.42=(100%+8%)=108%
x=100%

39.42/x = 108/100
x=39.42*100/108
x=36,5
actual pressure will be 36,5
