Ronald and Madelyn are both entering a cake in the Tri-County Bake-Off. Ronald's recipe calls for 2 cups of sugar and 5 cups of flour. Madelyn is entering a much larger cake, so her recipe calls for 6 cups of sugar and 16 cups of flour. Whose cake is less sweet?

Answer:

Ronald

Explanation:

RONALD:

Cups of sugar = 2

Cups of flour = 5

Cups of sugar / cup of flour mixed = 2/5 = 0.4 per cup

MADELYN :

Cups of sugar = 6

Cups of flour = 16

Amount of sugar per cup of flour :

Cups of sugar / cup of flour mixed = 6/16 = 0.375 per cup

RONALD'S cake is sweeter, it has greater amount of sugar per cup than madelyn's
