accel = change in v / change in time = 88 f/s / 10.3 s = 8.54 ft / s^2

F = ma = 2903 * 8.54 = 24802 lb ft/s^2

Now increase the mass to 4903 by adding a 2000 lb trailer (which, by the way is way past the towing capacity of an anemic Prius !)

F = ma

24802 = 4903 a shows a = 5.06 ft/s^2

45 mi/hr = 66 ft/s

a = change in v / change in time

5.06 = 66 / 5.06 = 13 sec
