I believe this would be -.99. Correlation typically goes from -1 to 1 with 0 being no correlation whatsoever. Since this has such a strong negative slope, it would need to be as close to -1 as possible.

Answer: -0.99

Explanation:

From the given picture, it can be seen that there is a strong negative correlation between the variables.

i.e. the value of correlation coefficient must be negative.

The value of strong correlation coefficient r, lies between the absolute value of 0.75 to 1.

From all the given options -0.99 has the nearest value to the absolute value of 1.

Therefore, the best estimate of the correlation coefficient for the variables in the scatter plot = -0.99
