answer:y=61 x=50

the sum of Pentagon's angles is 540°

108°+125°+98°+98°+(2x+11)°=540°

429°+(2x+11)°=540°

440°+2x=540°

2x=540°- 440°

2x=100°

x=100/2

x=50

(2x+11)°=111

(2x+11)°+(y+8)°=180° (by linear angle)

111°+(y+8)°=180°

119°+y=180°

y=180°- 119°

y=61°

(y+8)°=(61+8)°=69°

Answer:

x = 50, y = 61

Explanation:

The sum of the interior angles of a polygon is

sum = 180° (n - 2) ← n is the number of sides

Here n = 5, then

sum = 180° × 3 = 540°

Sum the interior angles and equate to 540

98 + 98+ 125 +108 + 2x + 11 = 540

2x + 440 = 540 ( subtract 440 from both sides )

2x = 100 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 50

Then

2x + 11 = 2(50) + 11 = 100 + 11 = 111

2x + 11 and y + 8 are adjacent angles and supplementary, sum to 180°, then

y + 8 + 111 = 180

y + 119 = 180 ( subtract 119 from both sides )

y = 61

Then x = 50 , y = 61
