If you used these three sources for a research paper on the life of the Russian dramatist Anton Chekhov, in what order would they appear on the "Works Cited" page?

On any works cited page (whether it's in APA, MLA, or any other style), all sources should be listed in alphabetical order by author's last name or, if an author's name is not listed, then by the title of the source itself.

Answer:

Haddock, Rogers, Watson

Step-by-step explanation:

According to a different source, the options included in this question are:

  • The Life and Times of Anton Chekhov by Ted Haddock
  • Checkhov and Russia by William E. Rogers
  • The Essence of Drama in Anton Checkhov by Robert Watson

The order that sources follow in the "Works Cited" page of a research paper is always alphabetical. This is a consequence of several reasons. First, alphabetical order is a type of structure that is commonly used and that is known in all disciplines. Second, following a particular structure allows the author to be able to organize his work. Finally, this structure makes it easier for the reader to find further information about the subject.
