When writing a technical document, regardless of the tone you use, it is important to ensure the following:

A technical document is supposed to explain very clearly how to operate and handle a product. Therefore, it must be written as clearly and objectively as possible. No double meaning, no metaphors or any other figures of speech can be used, since it is not supposed to display any "beauty", but it is rather meant to inform, explain, describe an operating process in a direct, straightforward manner. In other words, there must be no room for subjectivity or abstract interpretation.
