The question states that 18.02 g of the sugar is dissolved.
Molarity of solution is defined as number of moles dissolved in 1 L.
the molar mass of sugar - 360.4 g/mol
The mass dissolved - 18.02 g
Therefore number of moles of sugar - 18.02 g/ 360.4 g/mol = 0.05 mol
number of moles in 100.0 mL of solution = 0.05 mol
therefore number of moles in 1000 mL = 0.05 mol /100 x 1000 = 0.5 mol
Molarity of solution = 0.5 mol/L
