Total area of bathroom = 20 × 9 = 180 square feet

Area of one tile = 4 × 3 = 12 square feet

She needs x number of tiles to cover entire bathroom floor:

x = 180 square feet ÷ 12 square feet
x = 15 tiles

Answer:

The answer is 15 tiles

Step-by-step explanation:

The floor of the bathroom is the shape of a rectangle,

Therefore we find the area of the floor and find out the 4 foot by 3 foot in it.

Area of rectangle = Length x Width

A = l x w

Where l = 20 feet

w = 9 feet

A = (20 x 9) feet

= 180 square feet

Every 4 foot by 3 foot area = 1 tile

i.e. 4 foot x 3 foot = 1 tile

(4 x 3) feet = 1 tile

12 square ft = 1 tile

Conversion factor = 1 tile/12 square ft

How many 12 square ft inside 180 square feet

180 square feet = 180 square feet x 1 tile/12 square feet

= 180 x 1 tile/12

= 15 x 1 tile

= 15 tiles

The step is that you calculate the area of the bathroom and divide by the number of feet for every one tile
