"Around the garden"= circumference

Find diameter from circumference formula

Circumference= πd
19= (3.14)d
divide both sides by 3.14
6.04788= d

Find radius
d÷2= 3.0239

Insert r= 3.0239 into Area formula

Area= πr^2
A= π(3.0239)^2
A= (3.14)(3.0239)^2
A= 28.71 square feet

ANSWER: 28.71 square feet is the area of the new garden

Hope this helps! :)

Answer:

Area of the round flower garden is 28.73 feet²

Explanation:

Belinda is digging a round flower garden. She has 19 feet of rubber edging to place around the garden.

Since Belinda is edging the garden with the rubber which measure 19 feet,will be the perimeter of the given circle.

So perimeter of the circular garden = 2πr

19 = 2πr

r =
(19)/(2\pi )

r =
(19)/(2\pi )

r =
(19)/(2*(3.14))

r = 3.0255 feet

Now area of the circular garden = πr²

= (3.14)(3.0255)²

= 28.73 feet²

Therefore, area of the round flower garden is 28.73 feet²
