first you need to find out how much only 1 pound of apples costs. you can do this by dividing 33 by 6
33 divided by 6 = $5.50
now you need to multiply that price by ten to find out the answer to your problem.
5.5 x 10 = $55
it will cost $55 to get 10 pounds of apples.

6 pounds of apples cost $33

1.) Find out how much 1 pound of apples are. Simply divide $33 by 6 pounds to find the price per pound.
$33 (total price) ÷ 6 (pounds) = $5.50 per pound of apples

2.) To find out the cost of "x" pounds, simply substitute however many pounds you want to find the price for in "x". In this case, we're trying to find out the cost of 10 pounds, therefore substitute 10 for x.
x = 10 (pounds)

3.) Simply multiple the price per pound of apples to "x" (10) - how many pounds you want to find the price for.

$5.50 (price per pound of apples) × 10 (pounds) = $55 (total price of 10 pounds of apples).

Therefore, 10 pounds of apples cost $55.
