Answer with explanation:

It is given that , a yard includes a border path of a fixed width around a lawn.

Total Area of the Yard =(6+2 x)×(9+2 x)

As, width is fixed.

And, Area= Length × Breadth

=[2 x + 6]×[(2 x +3) +6]

or

=[(2 x +3) +6]× [2 x +6]

So, either ,Length = 2 x +9 or,2 x +6

or, Breadth = 2 x + 6 or 2 x +9

So,Number 6, represent : the width of the border from lawn to yard.

Option B: the width of the border.
