The net of an isosceles triangular prism is shown. What is the surface area, in square units, of the triangular prism?

Three rectangles are shown, one below the other. The middle rectangle has a width of 6 units, and, along each width, is a triangle with a height of 4 units. The length of the lowermost rectangle is 4 units and its width is 5 units.

Answer: First option is correct.

Explanation:

Since we have given that

Dimensions of lower most rectangle is 4 meters long and 5 meters wide.

So, Area of 2 lower and upper rectangle is

2* Length* breadth\\\\=2* 4* 5\\\\=40\ sq.\ units

Dimensions of middle rectangle is 6 units and 4 meters long.

Area of middle rectangle is given by

Length* breadth\\\\=4* 6\\\\=24\ sq.\ units

Dimensions of triangle are as follows:

Height = 4 units and base = 6 units.

So, Area of 2 triangles would be

2* (1)/(2)* 6* 4\\\\=24\ sq.\ units

So, Total surface area of the triangular prism is given by

40+24+24

=40+48

=84 sq. units

Hence, First option is correct.
