---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Linda
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Initial amount = $450
1 month = $225
12 months = 225 x 12
12 months = $2700

Total in her saving account after 12 months = 450 + 2700 = $3150

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Joe
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Initial amount - $750
1 month = $125
12 months = 125 x 12 = $1500
Total in his saving account after 12 months = 750 + 1500 = $2250

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Difference
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
$3150 - $2250 = $900

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: Linda will have $900 more in her account

1. Linda:

Linda opened a savings account with $450.

She saves $225 per month, then she saves $225·12=$2,700 per year (12 months).

In total she will have $450+$2,700=$3,150.

2. Joe:

Joe opened his savings account the same month with $750.

He saves $125 per month, then he saves $125·12=$1,500 per year.

In total he will have $750+$1,500=$2,250.

3. Linda will have $3,150-$2,250=$900 more than Joe.
