Find the area of triangle and find the area of rectangle and then find their difference to find the area of the shaded region.

A of triangle: 1/2(b)(h) = 1/2(10)(12) = 60
A of rectangle: LW = (2)(4) = 8

Area of shaded region = 60 - 8 = 52

Hope this helps :)

Answer:

52 m^2

Explanation:

From the figure

base of triangle= 4+4+2= 10 m

and height= 12 m

Area of triangle =
(1)/(2) * base* height

=
(1)/(2) *10*12

= 60 m^2

Area of small rectangle= length* breadth= 2*4= 8 m^2

now are of the shaded region= Area of triangle- area of small rectangle

=60-8 = 52 m^2
