The given angles are =

(x+40)° and 3x°

As the given angles are opposite to each other on the intersecting lines, so they are vertical angles. These are congruent or equal.

So,
x+40=3x

2x=40

x=20

Hence x = 20°

The given angles are =

(x+40) = 20+40 =60°

3x = 3*20 =60°
