Let x = income
Then:
Rent:
(2)/(5) x
Utilities:
(1)/(5) x
Food and Recreation:
(3)/(4)(x-( (2)/(5) x+(1)/(5) x))= (3)/(10) x

Now adding all the expenses:
(2)/(5) x+ (1)/(5) x+ (3)/(10) x= (9)/(10) x
We see that the expenses are 90% of the income, so the savings must be 10% of the income.

(1)/(10) x=193.5
x=1935.0 this is your income
Hope this helps...
