Presumably,
P(n,k) refers to the number of ways we can pick
k objects from a pool of
n objects in a certain order. We have

P(n,k)=(n!)/((n-k)!)

so

P(12,5)=(12!)/((12-5)!)=(12!)/(7!)=95,040

P(8,8)=(8!)/((8-8)!)=(8!)/(0!)=40,320
