First we look for the angle between the 9 ft side and the 15 ft side.
We have then:
theta = Atan (12/9)
theta = 53.1 Degrees.
With this angle we can use the following trigonometric relationship to find x:
sine (53.1) = x / 9
We clear x:
x = 9 * sine (53.1)
x = 7.197161926
round to the nearest tenth
x = 7.2 feet
Answer:
the distance visitors will be able to get to the statue is:
x = 7.2 feet
