The correct answer to this questions is Option b) The Muslim League wanted a separate Muslim state.

When the Indian Freedom movement began it was a join effort by Muslims and Hindus.

The Hindus found prominent leaders in the form of Nehru and Gandhi, while the Muslims had a strong leader in the form of Jinnah.

Initially, everyone agreed on making a free, democratic and secular India.

However, as time passed, Mr. Jinnah felt that the Indian National Congress was conveniently dominated by Hindus and their Issues.

When many of his demands were not met, he formed his own party, the Indian Muslim League to represent the legitimate interests of Muslims.
