Gregor feels completely secluded, and uses his family's conversations to try to return his mental focus back to normal. However, he is constantly drifting further and further away from his human self.

Answer:

He still feels the need for human company.

Step-by-step explanation:

The book "The Metamorphosis" begins with Gregor Samsa, traveling salesman, waking metamorphosed into a gigantic insect. From then on, the whole narrative will unravel this impact in his life and in the life of his family, since he lives with his parents and his 17-year-old sister, as well as being the home provider.

When Samsa wakes up metamorphosed, he becomes isolated in his bedroom without contact with any human being. Although, this character feels exhausted from the boring life he has, he feels sad and misses the company of his family, in addition, he feels guilty for putting the family in that situation.
