Hey there! :D

So, the surface area formula for a cylinder is:

2πrh+2πr^2

So, plug in the values

2*π*8*4+2π*8^2

Start with the first part.

2*3.1416*8*4= 201.0624

2*3.1416*8^2= 402. 1249

201.0624+ 402.1249= 603.1872

The nearest tenth makes it 603.2.

I hope this helps!

SA = 2π r h + 2π r²
SA = 2 x 3.1416 x 8 x 4 + 2 x 3.1416 x 8^2
SA = 201.0624 + 402.1248
SA = 603.1872
SA = 603.2 (nearest tenth)

answer
603.2 ft^2
