PROMPT: Assignment: Imagine that you are a bee who wants to become “head of the hive.” Write a persuasive campaign speech about leading your bee colony. Include facts about bees, such as how they obtain food, their social structure, and their interactions with others.

QUESTION: Which is a thesis statement for this prompt?

A: Imagine that you are a bee who wants to become “head of the hive,” and write a persuasive campaign speech.

B: Bees live in colonies, where every member works for the benefit of all, performing various tasks of pollination, honey production, and tending the young.

C: Thousands of worker bees, all females, perform every chore for the colony unrelated to reproduction, whereas the males live only to mate with the queen.

D: Bee monarchy should be revamped to function more as a democratic society, with more evenly distributed responsibilities among males and females in the colony.

Hey there! :D

When I look at the choices, some look more like facts and opinions rather than a thesis. The first choice looks like a writing prompt.

"A" is like a writing prompt.

"C" is about females. It doesn't describe the hive as a whole.

"D" is like an argument. About bee monarchy. It isn't really supporting the points the prompt wants you to cover.

"B" is the best answer.

It covers how they 'obtain their food' (by pollination) how they interact with each other, and the social structure (how they work to benefit each other).

I hope this helps!
