How did the war alter the lives of women on the home front, and what did different groups think would happen to the status of women after the war?

I believe it was because of the women taking up the jobs of the men when they went off to fight. Then after became a whirlwind of women's suffrage in gaining the right to vote, and slowly but surely getting positions in the workplace. This, of course, happened at different times compared to women of color, unfortunately, they struggled for longer to get their right to vote.
