Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) is nearly the same as in vitro fertilization (IVF) except that: Fertilization during the GIFT occurs within the body, and on the other hand, IVF fertilization within a laboratory, in vitro. The advantage of the GIFT is that egg becomes fertilized in the usual place during the natural cycle, after which they will naturally travel to the uterus, but this makes GIFT more invasive method.
