(x+3)/(3)= (y+2)/(2)

We can separate the fraction on left hand side of the equation, by writing each term under the denominator separately as shown below:


(x)/(3)+ (3)/(3)= (y+2)/(2) \\ \\ (x)/(3)+ 1= (y+2)/(2) \\ \\ (x)/(3)= (y+2)/(2)-1 \\ \\ (x)/(3)= (y+2-2)/(2) \\ \\ (x)/(3)= (y)/(2)

Therefore, x/3 is equal to y/2
