When composing an essay - or any piece of writing, for that matter - that presents a particular point or argument, it is vital that we present an informed, logical, and valid presentation of ideas that is supported by evidence and solid critical thinking.  If an essay does not offer a valid argument or reasoning, one's reader will be less inclined to accept the ideas and points being presented by the writer.

It is important make decisions and/or draw conclusions based on sound, logical and valid reasons/arguments because to not do so means one will be acting upon fallacious reasons. Actions (decisions and the drawing of conclusions) based upon fallacious reasoning will always be considered erroneous by nature, and erroneous actions are something that will inevitably lessen one’s credibility.
