Break the shape into 3 different shapes and calculate the area of those shapes.
Shape 1: 10*8 = 80 ft^2
Shape 2: 27*12 = 324 ft^2
Shape 3: 8*8 = 64 ft^2
Then add those shapes up:
80+324+64 = 468 ft^2

20 x 10 = 200
45 - 10 = 35 - 8 = 27
8 x 8 = 64
20 - 8 = 22
22 x 45 = 990
The area of the shape is 990 square feet.
Hope I could help!
