He wil goes to Hill-climbing and swimming on the same day, after 24 days.
We should find out the Least Common Factor (LCM) of 12 and 8, and you will get 24.

this is a lowest common multiple question.
to find the lowest common multiple, you need to find the prime factors of the two numbers:
Take out duplicates:
and multiply them together:
and that is your answer.
