In terms of Pavlov's analysis of learning, salivation would be referred to as an unlearned response or unconditioned response, which occurs naturally in response to the stimulus that are not conditioned. Pavlov's experiments with dogs demonstrated that our behavior can be changed using conditioning. His research demonstrated the way in which classical conditioning could be used to cultivate a particular association between the occurrence of one event in the anticipation of another.
