The light-independent reactions take the products of light-dependent reactions (ATP and NADPH) and use it for further chemical processes.

The light-independent reactions, or dark reactions are the second stage of photosynthesis that occurs after light-dependent reaction. The light-independent reactions are chemical reactions that convert carbon dioxide and other compounds into glucose without presence of light.
